 Emmanuel Giboulot leapt to the news in 2013, when, in defense of his vineyards and of nature as a whole, he decided to oppose the treatment against golden flavescence. In compliance with his biodynamic creed, he decides not to use the insecticide imposed by the specification of his appellation. A lawsuit follows, resulting in a media follow-up and support from various associations. In the end, Giboulot gets away with a less hefty fine than initially feared. Many interpreted this outcome as a reasonable victory of nature's self-defense balances against market reasons.
